We can’t wait to meet you. Below you can find out a little bit about who we are and how we do things around SMBC.
Available for members and visitors. Children from birth through 3 years old will be cared for in the nursery during bible study and worship times. Please sign your child in with a volunteer at drop off.
Come as you are! In our Sunday morning services the worship team will lead us in singing together songs written today as well as songs that have been around a while. We value a prayer environment in worship where many can participate. Central to our gathering is the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, the Bible. We have a nursery during the entire service and also a children’s church during the sermon time.
At Sweat Memorial, you will see people of all ages wearing suits and dresses, as well as jeans and tennis shoes. We believe the Biblical truth that “man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)
Plan on arriving at least 15 minutes before the service start or bible study class starts, so that you will have time to park, check you kids in, and get into the church before the music starts.
Sunday school classes begin at 9:30 AM, and our congregational morning worship begins at 10:30 AM, and evening worship begins at 6:30. Our worship services are approximately 1 hour in length.
During Bible study, worship services and choir times, your child will experience age-appropriate Bible teaching, music, and engaging activities designed to introduce them to Jesus and help them grow in their journey to love and follow Him.
We understand that the childcare and well-being of your children is of utmost importance, especially when it may be an unfamiliar place. Don’t hesitate to ask one of our Children’s Department volunteers for a tour of the facilities before leaving your child in childcare. We hope and expect that once your kids spend a little time at church and see the fun activities available to them, they will not want to leave!
We know visiting a new church can be overwhelming, so we want to make your visit as easy as possible. We want you to feel welcome & loved as soon as you drive onto the campus of Sweat Memorial.
When you visit, look for signs on the exterior of the church that will direct you to the Welcome Center, the Children’s Wing, the Sanctuary or the Fellowship Hall.
When you enter the front of the sanctuary, you will find a welcome center. There will also be volunteers at each entrance to help guide you. We would love for you to stop by the welcome center or let one of our volunteers know that you are visiting so that we can get a welcome packet to you.
We want to get to know you more and can’t wait to connect with you when you visit with us!
