Love

A special message from SMBC:
Our church family at Sweat Memorial Baptist Church would like to share that Dr. Bill Young, lovingly known as “Brother Bill,” has resigned as our pastor after six years of faithful service. Following a stroke on October 12th, Brother Bill has prayerfully discerned that it is time to step away from full-time ministry. He is doing well and looks forward to continuing to serve the churches and pastors of South Georgia in various ways. With 58 years of full-time ministry and 60 years of preaching, his faithfulness and dedication to God’s work have been an incredible blessing to our congregation and community. Though we are saddened to see this season end, we rejoice that he will remain a member of Sweat Memorial and continue to be part of our church family. We are deeply thankful for his leadership, his love for people, and his lifelong commitment to sharing the Gospel.
